SELF TESTIMONY

What should I testify, what to say about him
Sometimes he is funny, sometimes he is grim

You will find him mostly lost in his thought
That’s what he owns, that’s what he has got

To know him you have to read him and learn
During which your conscience may also burn

And injuries may be fatal so leave him alone
As whoever touched him have turned to stone

So on him don’t waste your energy and time
As his words make no sense, they only rhyme

He may seem to be sweet, but he is often bitter
Every time it’s not gold, everything that glitter

He shouldn’t be loved, he shouldn’t be hated
For him these emotions were just not created

He neither has any friends here nor any foe
And why is this so, even he couldn’t know

As when I tried to judge him, I got confused
As in a vain attempt all my energy got used

It’s impossible to know his nature or attitude
So finally decided to leave him in his solitude

DEMOCRATIC TO A CRITIC

Wish here it was really a democratic republic
Wish this country was really owned by public

I’m really not ready to celebrate this day now
And surprised as no one else’s aware as how
For me this is not reality and just a gimmick

But then truth is unfortunately quite contrary
Socio-economic and political condition scary
As I can feel my country is ill and is also sick

The wealth has accumulated in hands of few
And happiness of the poor is for long time due
As this often gets covered by some clever trick

Our elected leaders are now mostly criminals
The constitution is now threatened by the evils
With poisonous fangs our growth they prick

But again when will we get aware of the fact
Leaving the complains we’ll get together to act
As our own future, we ourselves have to pick

With strong will and determination move ahead
Rejuvenating souls once supposed to be dead
Contributing to our development brick by brick

Forgetting differences of faith, caste and creed
If united we all stand, our nation will succeed
So weaved in a garland, like beads we’ll stick

Finally we all can feel proud to be an Indian
Removing illiteracy and corruption, the villain
Then with our success our fortunes will click

And we’ll feel equality, liberty and sovereignty
We’ll be the best without dilemma or ambiguity
So I'll be able to say my republic is democratic
