A LONG DRIVE

The road lays ahead quite dark and silent
Sometimes straight and somewhere bent

My hands on steering feet on accelerator
And eyes taking note of the speedometer
The player inside runs your favorite tracks
And the road without any bumps or cracks
Behind the wheels the time getting spent

Viewing the scene through the windows
Feeling the cool winds that gently blows
And finding peace which heart often lacks
Stopping by the motel for tea and snacks
Moving on where others may have went

Sometimes looking at the road map too
To calculate how long the distance is due
Again cruising ahead to cover the remain
As from this journey I have a lot to gain
Of which later on may be I can comment

And as I am traveling with my companion
The importance of whom, need no mention
And now together we have to travel along
Accepting each others right and the wrong
As this is what the remaining life is meant

Moving along with gossip and conversation
Understanding the feelings and emotion
Again at times stopping by the road side
And lighting a campfire with leaves dried
So as to take rest for sometime in the tent

Finally reaching towards the destination
Expecting things to the point of perfection
With happiness and joys inside the heart
Taking time to thing how life did convert
Smiling ahead with satisfaction and content

NOW OR NEVER

I don’t know whether I’ve to look back or ahead
As the confusion seems to be getting on my head

Forget the past or should I try to memorize them
While trying to decide it, I am being in mayhem
Else gathering my spirits, I’d confront my future
Working devotedly to give it the desired texture
Trying to knit the moments with the same thread

My gone by days still seem to hold me somehow
The recollections of the same haunt me till now
Experiences of which have been good and bad
Switching the emotion between sorrow and glad
As lips tends to smile or the eyes color gets red

I again just do not know as to what future awaits
Due to which my tension continuously escalates
But again I feel that for the future I am prepared
As for the same absolutely no efforts I’ve spared
And by similar thoughts, all the fears have fled

For now it’s just my present that I’m concerned
That’s what I’ve been taught and I have learned
So as to work on my present in order to survive
As future is an illusion and the past is an archive
And you’ve to believe as it has always been said

Don’t look back or forth on the journey onward
Be confident of yourself and don’t get dithered
Because on your present your future will depend
And on your sincere efforts your life will ascend
But if you don’t realize its worth you will be dead

LOVE OF THE EVENING

It’s a bottle-neck at the discotheque door
Inside you’ll find feet tapping on the floor
The DJ's busy playing your favorite score
And your mood expecting to have it more
Amidst the shouts, the noises and the roar

The shimmering bulbs, the dazzling light
Shining into the wee hours of this night
And tries to keep the moods up and bright
While holding your partner close and tight
Romancing and dancing to heart’s delight

Dinner is followed at a table by the corner
With your love, exclusively in her honor
Exchanging emotions with gift and flower
And wishing to just hold on to this hour
Feeling lucky beneath the moon and star

Then walking together by the street lane
And holding her hands gently in the rain
With a promise to meet always and again
For sharing each other’s sorrow and pain
With honesty in admiration and complain

And imagining her again in your dream
Thinking her face that glows and gleam
Hope this fantasy in reality will redeem
We won't separate in conditions extreme
As we are for each other it always seem
