A LONG DRIVE

The road lays ahead quite dark and silent
Sometimes straight and somewhere bent

My hands on steering feet on accelerator
And eyes taking note of the speedometer
The player inside runs your favorite tracks
And the road without any bumps or cracks
Behind the wheels the time getting spent

Viewing the scene through the windows
Feeling the cool winds that gently blows
And finding peace which heart often lacks
Stopping by the motel for tea and snacks
Moving on where others may have went

Sometimes looking at the road map too
To calculate how long the distance is due
Again cruising ahead to cover the remain
As from this journey I have a lot to gain
Of which later on may be I can comment

And as I am traveling with my companion
The importance of whom, need no mention
And now together we have to travel along
Accepting each others right and the wrong
As this is what the remaining life is meant

Moving along with gossip and conversation
Understanding the feelings and emotion
Again at times stopping by the road side
And lighting a campfire with leaves dried
So as to take rest for sometime in the tent

Finally reaching towards the destination
Expecting things to the point of perfection
With happiness and joys inside the heart
Taking time to thing how life did convert
Smiling ahead with satisfaction and content
