OUR ENVIRONMENT

if we are discussing the environment
is it the nuke weapons and disarmament
is it just a subject to give a speech
is it enough to move around and preach
to save the nature and save the earth
have we really understood its worth
will things improve by putting blame
will they get even by doing the same
aren't we responsible for all disasters
by trying to become nature's masters
we too responsible for the earthquakes
and all the lives that it often takes
there're frequently floods and drought
these calamities we have only brought
we now also see the tsunami and storms
as we’ve broken environmental norms
and we have only cut down the trees
and spilled in sea petrol and grease
we've destroyed the natural resources
while going against the natural forces
and wasted and misused water and land
kept increasing our desire and demand
and sacrificed our own right to live
which we'll have to accept and believe
that we have brought the earth to end
and its funeral we're about to attend
so now if we wish our earth to remain
we'll be required to think once again
to save wild animals, plants and trees
and see that their numbers do increase
by controlling the pollution in the air
from the destruction of the ozone layer
lets take a pledge, make a commitment
that we'll take care of our environment
